The BEST of British automotive

What is the current best "British-made" Car?

These are cars that have been designed, financed and built in the UK. Unfortunately, we had to omit the likes of Aston, Jag, Rolls and Range Rover. Out went Bentley and Lotus. Even automotive legends such as Austin Healey, which ceased to be made in 1972. Great pedigree cars, which were destroyed by bitter arguing between unions and management, were just sold off to the large foreign corporate companies such as Ford, BMW and VW.

Our automotive companies just had no vision and no stomach for the battle with the Japanese, Americans and Germans. They wanted a British only marketplace and did not consider or imagine the benefits of Europe.

However, Britain still has a powerful role in the design and engineering of automotive great such as BMW, but the great British car has fallen by the wayside.

So we're left with the following contestants …

Morgan Aero 8
