Buying and selling comics and magazines online
Can you believe that there are some comics out there selling for over £15,000? This is largely because they are historical and graphical antiques just like paintings and other works of art.
Buying and selling DC comics online:
The most sought after comics are the original DC 'Action Comics' comic and the first edition of the Superman comic. Written and drawn by Jerome Siegel and Joe Shuster, the comic introduced Superman as "Champion of the oppressed. These are the holy grail of comic books. They can command as much as £250,000. This would have to be a very rare comic and in very good condition.
Buy and sell other comics online:
Spiderman comics can reach as much as £5000. This would obviously be for issue #1 'The Amazing Spider-man', which was introduced via the Fantastic Four (the Thing, the Human Torch, Mr Fantastic and the Invisible Girl). These can go for as much as £900.
Buying and selling magazines online:
Unlike comics, buying and selling magazines online are not as common. You might be able to pick up a collection of Punch magazines for approximately £2,000 but these would be huge volumes and would never really command the kind of asking prices that comic books would command. The Mad magazine can cost as much as £500 when buying online.
